According to professor Mel Leipzig, art history, in the video, impressionism is the color construct the type of painting. And he considers Monet an impressionist leader because Monet always painted from life and he started with reality. As well as painting what he loved. The professor also said the color became more imprtant than the form. One of the critics at the show said this is not a painting, this is an impression. Monet painted the same scene from 8 in the morning until 10 clock and another one from 10 to 12. Throughout his life Monet stated that he was a student of Boudin. Even when he was very old man.
I am not a critic to criticise Monet's paintings, but I want to say Monet was a great painter because he did not draw for drawing. He was drawing particular things in his paintings, like a light and the colors were translated at specific different times. I think he was creative, because he painted the real life; he also was using his feeling to exhibit his paintings to the people in this magnificence.

The Red Kerchief: Portrait of Camille Monet

This painting was by Claude Monet in 1873. I am going to describe the story that is behind the painting. The woman in the painting was his wife according to the title. The painting seems to be as a begging woman, maybe she was feeling cold, or she was hungry. Or this scene symbolizes a moment of farewell and the woman was looking at the inside of the house for the last time. The last look usually is sad; this is what her eyes seem. The feeling of the elements in the paintings are sad such as the weather, how the woman stands, the colors of her clothes, the ground of the house, even the curtains. Monet focused on the lighting more than anything. Many of his painting have the same shapes but they are different at the time. That what I note in his painting.

The painting is amazing for many reasons; the colors are very beautiful. The painting contains more than a story. He had internal feeling to use the lighting creatively. I have ambivalent feeling. The painting has a sad story, so I am sad, and it has consistency in colors and honest expression, so I am amazed.

Picture A
I will describe picture A in the core book Quest 2 page 74, because it has many things. First of all it seems like small town with buildings that are in front of the mountains; also I think it was a work day; accordingly the children in the picture come from or go to the school. You notice that most people in the picture are African, because the artist drew a small area from Haiti in 20th century and Haiti was a colony of France. I think it is a beautiful town, because they have a special lifestyle, and a simple life. Somebody in the picture sells food, and somebody rides his car with his family, and somebody holds her children to cross the street, and others hold a tire to fix it. I like this kind of life.
