The Red Kerchief: Portrait of Camille Monet

This painting was by Claude Monet in 1873. I am going to describe the story that is behind the painting. The woman in the painting was his wife according to the title. The painting seems to be as a begging woman, maybe she was feeling cold, or she was hungry. Or this scene symbolizes a moment of farewell and the woman was looking at the inside of the house for the last time. The last look usually is sad; this is what her eyes seem. The feeling of the elements in the paintings are sad such as the weather, how the woman stands, the colors of her clothes, the ground of the house, even the curtains. Monet focused on the lighting more than anything. Many of his painting have the same shapes but they are different at the time. That what I note in his painting.

The painting is amazing for many reasons; the colors are very beautiful. The painting contains more than a story. He had internal feeling to use the lighting creatively. I have ambivalent feeling. The painting has a sad story, so I am sad, and it has consistency in colors and honest expression, so I am amazed.
